Ontario provides funding to help non-profits cope with COVID-19 impacts.

On December 23, the Ontario Trillium Foundation announced the first of two rounds of grants awarded through the Resilient Communities Fund. Close to $41 million of funding has been awarded to support 486 projects run by non-profit organizations in Ontario who have been impacted by COVID-19.

Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries announced the new Resilient Communities Fund grants.

The Resilient Communities Fund provides funding to the non-profit sector to help organizations recover and rebuild from the impacts of COVID-19 so they can effectively meet the needs of communities across Ontario. These grants will help recipient organizations in their medium to longer-term recovery efforts and help with their stabilization as they build their capacity and resiliency.

“The Ontario Trillium Foundation is delighted to announce project funding to 486 non-profit organizations through our Resilient Communities Fund. This funding will help organizations deliver programs and services safely, while ensuring local community needs are met across Ontario,” said Katharine Bambrick, CEO of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. “This has been a very challenging year for many non-profits organizations and the people they support. There is no over-stating how essential the non-profit sector is to the social and economic fabric of Ontario. Congratulations to all new Resilient Communities Fund grant recipients.”
